Interview with Joseph Kahn about his latest film Detention (2012).

His comment about how teens now most likely watch films on their computers in 720p or less with skype, wikipedia, another windows open in the background is incredibly true (especially in accordance to myself). I think Kahn’s idea of a director who expresses the point of view of his/her audience/content/character’s eyes rather than push an auteur vision is very interesting.

expected to land by 8:00PM CET (2PM EST) today, july 24th, 2012, after a 6,000-kilometer (3700-mile) journey, the ‘solar impulse HB SIA’ airplane will have broken the world record for the farthest distance ever traveled on a solar-powered aircraft. for the entire duration of the trip, the plane has been powered using four 10-horsepower motors powered exclusively by energy gathered from 11,628 photovoltaic panels. regardless of the weather, these panels harvest the energy produced from the daylight where they are then stored using 400 kilograms worth of lithium batteries.

This is pretty cool.
